Take a Trip to the Oasis
The Student Recreation Center welcomes its members to find serenity and relaxation. The Oasis is a room inside the SRC with a massage chair, humidifier, speaker, and tranquil beach theme. If you are in need of a massage, nap, or a quiet spot to meditate, the Oasis is the space.
Booking a Time
Oasis reservations have moved to the new Campus Recreation Member Portal. Members should login using their SOU ID, then follow the steps to book 25-min time slots. Note: at this point, we are only allowing members to book timeslots 10 days in advance. Reservations are limited to 1 25-minute timeslot per day.
Current student and SRC members: timeslots are available to book between 9:30am-11:30am and 1:30pm-4:30pm Monday-Friday.
SOU Employees: SOU faculty and staff are now able to book time in the Oasis as part of our employee wellness initiative. Timeslots are available from 11:30am-1:30pm Monday-Friday. Note: SOU Employees will need to first visit the SRC front desk to activate their Employee Wellness membership to access the Oasis bookings.
How to Book:
- Log into the SOU Campus Recreation Member Portal. SOU students and employees – make sure to log in with your SOU account.
- Click “Oasis Bookings” > Select the Booking Type
- Choose the timeslot you’d like to book and click “Book Now”
A confirmation email will be sent to you. If you’d like to view or cancel your bookings, click your profile (upper right corner) > bookings, and you will see a list of your future bookings, along with a cancel button.
Members must check in at the SRC Info desk prior to entering the Oasis. Members are required to take all personal belongings into the Oasis, or lock them in an SRC locker (day use locks provided by the front desk).
In order to maximize your experience in the Oasis, the following should be considered:
- Keep noise and music to a relaxing and considerate level.
- Cellphone conversations are prohibited. Please silence your cellphone.
- Remove your shoes and use foot covers provided before using the massage chair.
- After use, wipe down the entire leather surface of the chair using the sanitizing equipment provided.
